Curriculum Maps Things to remember...
Reading books should come into school every day. PE is Tuesday and Friday (please remember that earrings should not be worn on PE days, they must be removed at home). School Value this half term: Perseverance
Philippians 4.13 'I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.' If your child shows the value at home, let us know so this can be celebrated in school. Homework
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in on the following Thursday. Homework will be posted on Class Dojo portfolios for children to complete and return online. It will link to learning from the week in English or Maths. A creative homework grid will also be sent home at the beginning of each term, focusing on our 'theme' and your child can choose from the many activities to complete over the whole term. Spring Term Year 2 Year 3 Autumn Term Year 2 Year 3 We also encourage you to hear your child read regularly and help develop their understanding of the text by questioning at least three times a week. Home reading books are changed daily if the reading record is signed to say it is finished. As we have focused spelling sessions in class, spellings will no longer be sent home or tested on Friday. PE PE days for Oak Class are Tuesday and Friday. For the first half term, the children should come to school wearing their PE kit. Please see the uniform policy to ensure your child has the correct PE uniform. ![]() ‘Rainbow-curriculum’
We fully recognise that as we welcome back the children, after such a long period out of the classroom for very many of our pupils, that there is an important and vital need to take time to rebuild a sense of safety, and belonging, relationships with peers and staff, and to begin to find ways to understand and process what has been happening. Kensworth CE Academy’s ‘Rainbow-curriculum’ for the re-integration to school of all our learners, follows guidelines and advice built on research around recovery following trauma. We will commence with a whole school focus on the book, 'Here We Are,' as part of our Rainbow Curriculum. |
