The value for this half term is Perseverance
Perseverance is: Pressing on Eager to continue Running the race Sticking with things Encouraging each other to keep going Valuing the support of others Eyes fixed on the target Reaching a goal over time Aiming to complete the task Not giving up Commitment to keep going Ending up where you want to b Welcome from the Headteacher,
At Kensworth CE Academy, we aim to ensure every child in our care feels happy, safe and secure so they can thrive in the excellent learning experiences we provide. Through building positive relationships, creating a supportive atmosphere, building resilience and encouraging children to share how they are feeling, we can help the children to manage growing up in the modern world so they can access the great learning opportunities we provide. We endeavour to support our children to be the very best they can be whilst being well-rounded individuals who can positively impact the community. This is reflected in our strapline, 'With God by our side, we can move mountains.' which was developed by a group of Year 6 pupils. We strive to ensure every child is able to meet their full potential and is ready for the next phase of education by providing a rich and deep curriculum. We are an inclusive school who provide excellent learning opportunities and a stimulating learning environment which meet the needs of each individual child and promotes a lifelong love of learning. Learning is fun at Kensworth and staff are encouraged to be creative in how they deliver learning experiences to ensure learning is brought to life and memorable for the children. There is great energy here that influences our curriculum, sporting endeavours, music and daily life. Underpinning all that we do is our Christian faith which enables children to flourish. We live our vision for all our children and families and our curriculum has been specifically designed to meet our learner's needs. Our children are joyful risk-takers, curious learners, intelligent thinkers, polite servants who support and are supported by one another in faith and friendship.
Kensworth CE Academy has a small team of dedicated and passionate staff who set high standards and expectations for both behaviour and learning. Children are encouraged to take risks in their learning, pushing themselves to come out of their comfort zones. If mistakes are made, the children are supported to learn from these mistakes which makes the learning experience more memorable. Our school values and vision are at the very heart of everything we do and how we expect all members of our school community to be. There is a clear focus on these values and the children are supported in their understanding of these and how they can develop their attitudes and behaviour to be the very best they can be. As part of The Diocese of St Albans Multi-Academy Trust, we work in partnership with other primary schools and Manshead Secondary Academy. Our closest partner is Totternhoe CE Academy of which I am also the headteacher. This enables our children to work alongside and share experiences with children from other schools as well as providing our staff with additional opportunities to develop and share their own expertise to strengthen our provision in all areas. |
